Best lawsuit ever.
World of Warcraft is being sued for making its players walk too slowly. And they're subpoenaing a member of Depche Mode because he knows what it's like to be depressed. But I thought modern games ran much faster, much better?

And subpoenaed Winona Ryder because she's read Catcher in the Rye...

If anything makes the gaming industry stop with the artificial extension of gameplay, a lawsuit would be it. Make some money AND fix our favorite hobby -
that's what I call a productive endeavor.
Aside from depression, is there anything we can sue someone for as a result of staring at grey/brown all day? |

But most modern gamers seem to LIKE 100+ hour games consisting of 85% artificial padding.
I don't think this lawsuit could ever possibly affect anything. This guy obviously has problems that a more streamlined WoW experience aren't going to help. |

Oh, I'm sure it'll get tossed out as frivolous.

Bomberguy221 wrote:Of course the lawsuit would have to be a non retarded one. This guy sounds like a head case. People can't even win a class action lawsuit against EB games for peddling used games as new. Besides, videogamers nowadays are brainwashed into thinking anything with a popular title is good, no matter how bad it is. 5 hours of tedious zelda training? But it's a ZELDA game! On a related note, Blizzard has actually made leveling less tedious now that the level cap has been raised twice: -You can get armor that gives you up to 20% experience bonus -Other pieces of "account bound" armor (that you can mail to your other characters to use) that are way more powerful than what is generally available. -A buff that gives you 5% more experience -Made riding mounts available at much earlier levels. 20 years ago, this lawsuit would have been "I cannot walk diagonally."
85% of video games are above the median in quality.

I don't know if anyone checked the bottom of that article, but this guy also sued Sony for banning him from PSN and taking away all his friends, Microsoft
for the Red Ring of Death that he can't pay to fix, and Nintendo for releasing the Wii firmware update that removed all his homebrew stuff.

I think people should sue for that last one, though.

How come? I think Wii homebrew basically translates to emulators, which they'd obviously have an interest in blocking if they want to have any Virtual
Console sales.

I suppose it depends on the definition of "homebrew" in this case, but I'm usually with the gamers on the side of things like mods and playing
homebrew games on your consoles. What if your PC or Mac stopped working because you put a piece of software on it that Microsoft or Apple didn't want you
to have?

True. And I think Apple already does that with the iPhone.
