When I saw this topic I thought It was talking about Charles Martinet, The voice of Mario.
Getting your hopes up is just a way of setting yourself up for disappointment.

No, I think he's still alive.
I never knew that Lou Albano was such a huge influence in making Wrestling go mainstream. I always knew him as the wrestler who had the rubber bands in his beard and was in a Cyndi Lauper music video and played Mario on the Super Show. |

 It's one of those "didn't expect it" deaths. And what sucks about this one is the only songs we can remember him with are the "Do the
Mario" song and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," as FO mentioned.

And the Super Mario Bros Rap.
He also did a pretty good job voice acting Mario on the Super Show. I liked him more than the guy who did Mario's voice on the SMB3 and SMW shows. |

I admit I thought this was going to be a continuation of the Videogaming is dead
topic, now with the announcement that New Super Mario Bros. Wii was going to have another "beginner-friendly" feature, like Clippy the
paperclip pausing the game to suggest courses of action or something.

Normally, I would have just posted this in the Dead Celebrities Topic, but this one was a little different for me since the Super Show, in a weird sense,
helped get me back into gaming after I abandoned it years earlier because I lost interest in Atari systems.
With as many celebrities that have been dying lately, I figured more would go before the end of the year, but Lou Albano was like the farthest person from my mind. Seems like Danny Wells (Luigi) is still alive, although he hasn't done anything since 2007. |
