That xkcd strip is one of a few recent ones which bugged me. If everyone else didn't like the way the world was going, wouldn't the world be totally
different?

That xkcd strip is one of a few recent ones which bugged me. If everyone else didn't like the way the world was going, wouldn't the world be totally different? it's n ot a consenual(sp?) reality, and ayn rand wannabes are mostly conformists(or procrastinators) just like everyone else. |

My biggest pet peeve about the FF1 remakes is the way the Sky Castle gets butchered. I always interpreted it as a Space Station that the less advanced people
thought of as a flying castle because they couldn't really comprehend it. Then Square goes and makes it a literal flying castle that flies among the
clouds.

Yeah. It's pretty obvious that in the original it was a Space Station. The stars in the background, the metallic construction, the computers and video
screens, and even the mechanical music. Plus, it makes sense. The original Final Fantasy game tried to make as much sense of its technology as possible (like
the floater stone that could raise things). A space station makes sense, but a castle flying around in the sky for no explained reason doesn't.
