One of the complaints I've been reading a lot is that when several robots are in the same scene (like during a fight), you can't tell what's going on.

I think it's a consequence of how bad the new Transformers designs are. They're jumbled, they have no warmth or appeal, and you can't tell what their alternate form is by looking at the robot form.

My mind can't process them at all. There was some controversy over the Skids and Mudflap characters in the news, and the articles always had the same stock picture of them, and all I can see are two indescribable jumbles with no heads. Same thing with the pictures of Devastator that I've seen.
