Posts: 15571 (07/13/09 6:11 PM) Administrator More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I think at the new place, FO and I will give up our old ideal of trying to have every game system we own connected to a TV simultaneously. It was a pretty ridiculous idea to begin with, it led to tons of clutter, we never really succeeded, it's easier to emulate some stuff, etc., etc. We only have one TV set up right now, with just the PS2 (most for DVDs) connected to it. Hmm, when I play games again, what will I play? I thought I had some emulated stuff going, but I don't remember all of it. I do know I had files of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, though I had played those games on cartridge before, so they weren't really new to me. Oh, yeah...... I just remembered that I never finished Dragon Warrior 2. Man, I don't know when I'll be ready to face that game again. Which would be great, except most of the difficulty is coming from the the game filling the screen with enemies that are the same reds and browns as the background, making it almost impossible to tell what the fuck is going on. I found you can get through most of level 5 by hanging around the bottom left of the screen, more between the middle and far left of the screen than in the corner and holding the fire button. You might have to move around a little, and at some point these gray gremlins come in from the bottom of the screen and I died once there.

I actually got good enough at the level that I was able to make it to the part before those fire snakes with the erratic patterns without dying. But it still severely pissed me off whenever I'd die because I entered a space that was occupied by a camoflauged enemy. At first I thought the final boss was overwhelming, but I found a way to totally cheese him. Jeez, that puts him at the level of Super C's final boss. And then WinUAE wouldn't load the ending, giving me a Guru Meditation error, so I had to download it from Lemon Amiga.

More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Phantom Hourglass - I did a run through the hourglass temple and managed to reach the end this time. I also managed to defeat every soldier on every floor, which snagged me a few treasures. I also got the gold smokestack.

Posts: 162 (07/14/09 11:37 AM) More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	da dick wrote: dragonica MMO: at first, i thought it would be like maplestory or RO but with more blocky 3D graphix. but it turns out to be more of an online beat-em-up with rpg elements. all the skills the different classes can learn seem to revolve around combo attacks. not sure how well this all would work out. think i heard of similar mmos like this. was it "grand chase"? and errr... i think i still rather hunt for unique gear in diablo ii. btw, i finally found all 3 of the civerb's set. the set's really only good for spell casters and maybe a paladin specialising in that magic hammer skill thingy. my 3D card doesn't seem to like D2 though. damn thang hangs more often than before. made me think about hunting down a crappy P3 PC or notebook so some of my old games would work just about right with win98 without any complex configs.. not sure if games would work well under win98SE. heard it's stable but really really slow. speaking of D2, it seems that dragonica's quests can work like playing diablo 2 online. you can open an instance of a game and allow only your friends/guild mates/whatever to go into the instance. kinda like hosting a game. there's also a PVP area. of course i still hate the business end motivations of these games.it's always the "buy stuff from us while playing this game OR GRIND LIKE MAD" concept. i guess paying for extra innings still beats monthly subsciption. but all WoW nerds would call me a troll for that. forgot to mention this game isn't that blocky even though it's going for the super-deformed cutesy look. there's an option to turn off the bloom in the game, so codie might hate it a little less than most modern games. strangely, they applied lots of bloom around the sheep in the game. I downloaded and played it some yesterday. It does somewhat remind me of Grand Chase. I'll play some more today, but I'm likely to get bored of it quickly like most of the other MMOs I played. I actually like Grand Chase but since I'm more of a solo guy, it gets tough to play maps alone when you have tons of enemies converge on you, especially those damn harpies. I've never seen a game get me so mad! In my veins it courses through That addictive Mountain Dew
