I guess I didn't mention that I finally made it through the last of those mother-bleeping retarded Slimer cartoons yesterday. Now I'm going through the
commentaries on episodes I care to and haven't already watched (i.e. any season one episode, Janine You've Changed)

In some of those commentaries I watched, people would seem very uncomfortable and it made them difficult to watch.

Holy shit, I was skimming through the guide booklet and found out the guy who wrote "Buster the Ghost" was the guy who started the Ultraverse Prime
arc with the polka-dotted military dictator (whom I misread as Keith Griffin, it's actually Keith Giffin).
I'm running into all kinds of interesting facts lately!

CLOUDBOND007 wrote:The best ones were the commentary for "Egon on the Rampage" (it had Maurice LaMarche, Laura Summer, and the writer of that episode, and they were all very enthusiastic about it), and the "Halloween Door", which had only JMS. The ones that had Kathryn Drennan ("Egon's Dragon"), the Hickey/McCoy duo, and Marsha Goodman (the voice director) were okay, too. It was mostly just the first few that were like that. |

Mario 64: 70 stars. There are times when I really like this game and times when it's just a chore.

Flying Omelette wrote: The ones with the British magazine guy weren't bad, either. I didn't watch the ones for Ghosts R Us, Slimer, Come Home, or Adventures in Slime and Space because I didn't care about the episodes and/or the people commenting on them. I did watch: Take Two* Collect Call of Cathulhu Egon on the Rampage* Scaring of the Green Cabinet of Calamari The Devil to Pay Egon's Dragon Halloween Door* Janine, You've Changed *I watched these ones earlier, usually right after I watched the episode. I also watched the pilot and interviews with JMS (I can't spell his last name) and Maurice LaMarche. On the commentaries and interviews, they seemed to be dodging the subject of Lorenzo Music as Garfield. When Marsha Goodman was talking about the switch to Dave Coulier, she said Bill Murray complained that Peter didn't sound like him, but wasn't the actual complaint that he sounded like Garfield? So I guess it's time to finally to put this away. I've been left with an urge to rewatch Garfield & Friends, but sitting through another 120 episode cartoon so shortly after Ghostbusters is a bit overwhelming. And thanks again, Seabu, for the set! |

I didn't watch the ones for Ghosts R UsThe only thing about that one is that Len Janson makes some really hilarious out-of-nowhere comments. |

Sure thing, glad you got more out of it than I did.
I just beat Mario 64 with 70 stars. I think all together, it took about 7 or 8 tries to beat Bowser. I like the games where they take Bowser more seriously as a villain as opposed to his bumbling persona usually seen in the RPG's. This wasn't too bad in that area. I feel like something is wrong with this game in terms of atmosphere, but it's hard to put my finger on it. Maybe it's the feeling of almost nonstop isolation. Sunshine and Galaxy follow the same basic formula, but the worlds and the hub area feel more alive. In any event, I need to take a break from this for a while. |

I had also watched the commentary for Don't Forget the Motor City, but forgot about it when compiling that list above.
I decided it was time to finish Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and all I got was a reminder of why I quit this game before. The platforming isn't bad, but the combat is shit. You can beat maybe 3/4 of the enemies by jumping over and hitting them over and over. And then there's two enemies in blue armor that hit you when you try to do that, but most of the time you can just stab them with the Dagger of Time to freeze them and hit them twice to insta-kill them. Sometimes this doesn't work, and then it's just button mashing. There's maybe six common enemies in the game (a little fat guy, a harem woman, a God of War SAB with a chain, a red guard, a blue guard, and a blue swordsman), and whenever you get into a fight you have to fight wave after wave after WAVE of the same fucking enemies, and I'm just sitting there hoping this will be the last wave, but no, I have to button mash my way through another (I almost gave up on this game with the boss fight with the Prince's father for this reason). You also can't put any room between you and the enemies because they teleport right back into your face. The game also has a bit of Record of Lodoss War Syndrome, and the fucking camera doesn't help either. I was a bit surprised when I loaded up the game and was 55% through it (I didn't think I was even halfway through yet), and I think my percentage when I gave up for the time being was almost 70%. |

I just beat Star Fox 64. Path was something like: Corneria, Asteroid Field, Fortuna, Solar, Macbeth, Area 6, Venom. I know I got the harder version of Venom
because I had to fight Star Wolf and two forms of Andross. Final score was 1007. It was enjoyable, I have a soft spot for this game.

front mission:
wtf. bsnes had some unknown error and had to close. that never happened before. i blame the front mission rom and bad translation hacking. another hour of gameplay wasted even though i regularly saved. i think i liked this game better when i was just bored with it. anyways i started a new game even though (i think) i'm not half way through the game. i was reading some comments on FM's gamefaqs board, and playing with a small team of 3 in all missions sounded like a fun idea. so i did that the half-baked way. i used the 1st 3 pilots/mecs to do most of the fighting AND SURVIVE, while i send the other teammates to their doom with minimal weapons, to soften up the enemies and make them waste their missiles on those cannon fodder. it's a waste of money but i can easily earn money in the colloseum after the 3rd mission. bah. i still miss faselei, even though that other mec game was dumb enough to allow me to headbutt the char-clone/final boss to death. maybe i just loved my underdog zaku-clone too much. there really should be an alternative ending to char's revenge, where ray would headbutt char to death just to show how much more manly he was, and gundamium metal is always superior to imperial elitist tech... something like that. hey, tweeter!!! can you headbutt enemies to death in gundam dynasty warriors?!? |

Well, I guess I'm going to continue to work on Mario 64 now. I'm up to 74 stars. I'm now kind of curious to give the DS version another try, but I
want to do as much as I can with the original, first.
I REALLY don't like Wet-Dry World. Edit: Make that 78 stars, now.

I "beat" Venture (not to be confused with Adventure) on the Atari 2600. By "beat" I mean "played it until it looped back to
the first screen"
As an Atari 2600 adventure game it was passable. |

I imagine it's to him what Rusty Bucket Bay is to me.
I'm not that wild about Wet-Dry World myself. The hidden village is kind of neat, but overall I find it small, uninteresting, and maybe even slightly annoying. |

I remember Wet-Dry World was annoying to me, too. Lowering the water level at times seemed pointless.
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - I have been collecting ship parts and doing other miscellaneous chores. I've almost got the "Bell" set (still need hull), and am close to getting a couple of others. I also need 4 hearts. |

In "OH YEAH! FF7" I'm about to go into Nibelheim. The battle with (plot spoiler guy) was very disappointing. I wasn't expecting some lame
centaur thing to show up.
I got Dynasty Warrior 6 Empire. I've never played and Empires version. This game allows you to create your own characters, and it has Meng Huo. Yay? Yay. I've completed the first 3 scenarios. In the Yellow Turban one, I played as a created female character, and it started me off in Yuan Shu's land (just where I wanted to be actually!). I quickly joined Yuan Shu, and by around 200 AD I had taken over the land. I kept stalling some advancements to unlock items in the game. In the Guan Du Scenario, I played as a ruler, Meng Huo. I like what they've done with him, his moves are completely powerful and insane. In the Chi Bi Scenario, I played as Zhou Yu in Wu under Sun Quan mostly. I had become friends with Ling Tong and a different male created character, and sometimes I switched between them. Zhou Yu's wife, Xiao Qiao, kept backing my policy choices when Sun Quan and/or another officer (usually Taischi Ci or Guan Hai!?) disagreed, so its like I had a free pass on making choices due to the extra support and forcing Sun Quan to change his mind. ...And I'm now playing the "3 Kingdoms" Scenario as Cao Cao. Shu doesn't have much land left. I captured Zhao Yun, and Guan Yu defected to me. GUAN YU. DEFECTING TO CAO CAO. This game is insane. I'm hoping I can somehow get lucky and capture Sun Quan in my first battle with him. Capturing a ruler gives you their entire set of land. This would quickly put an end to things, but capturing is rare and random, moreso for rulers. This leaves the "Land in Chaos" scenario after this one. I'm going to likely do a created character run, and eventually stage a coup against a ruler for that and take over their kingdom.

I got 80-something stars in Mario 64, but now I'm probably going to end up switching to the DS version. I also got a few shines in Mario Sunshine. There
are definitely things to like about this game. Control seems a little tighter, even though the long jump is unfortunately missing. You have to babysit the
camera a little, but at least you can move it very precisely. The tropical setting is inviting, it just needed to be broken up occasionally with something
else. The traditional platforming sequences are really excellent and it seemed like Super Mario Galaxy was somewhat inspired by them.
