The problem with people cosplaying as Mega Man is that all they're doing is wearing blue pajamas with a helmet and arm cannon. They need to interpret his
design less literally and more imaginatively. Some details to break up the complete nothingness from chin to toe. Instead of blue pajamas, some sort of blue
uniform, maybe with some sort of armor. Even a blue football uniform would be on the road to improvement.

I think the main problem with MM cosplay is the transition from super-deformed to human proportions just doesn't work. A human wearing huge boots and a
huge arm cannon looks silly. And you can't pop on a huge helmet to replicate the "big head tiny body" of MM without looking like some ridiculous
Gazoo-thing.

I think X is less super deformed than NES Mega Man, though. Mega Man is between 2 (for the sprite) to 4 (for most drawings) or 5 heads tall. X is more like 3
or 4 (for the sprite) to 6 (for most drawings) or 7, so he's almost within the range of normal human proportions.

Another problem with the Mega Man cosplay is that no matter what, every costume is made of fabric, not metal. I don't picture Mega Man as looking like a
normal man in a costume. I picture him as being this little metal shiny doll-like thing.

I think the problem with alot, if not most cosplays is that they use cheap fabric. Look, it's hard enough for me to take someone dressed like Cloud
seriously, but it's even worse when his armor and sword are made out of felt and styrofoam.
Of course, most cosplayers don't exactly have the money to make anything that looks, you know, even half-way decent.

Mega Man looks retarded no matter what form he's in. People complain about the MM1 and 2 boxart and the Captain N version, but I don't think any of the
official versions are much better. And the Ruby/Spears cartoon version was the worst.
I just hate how he looks so anorexic in this modern art. 
In the game, he's just a little blue blob with horrifying facial expressions. 
Someone (don't remember who) on a message board I used to lurk at years ago had the top part of this one for an avatar. He was a very frequent poster and it was around that time I began to realize how much I abhorred the Mega Man design. Seeing this picture every day over and over was enough to make me not want to play the Mega Man games for awhile.
