It only applies for things that have been lost for several days and that I looked for and tried to find. Since this is the first post, I'll start by naming a couple of things that had been lost, but have recently been found: -My Jackson Electrodynamics book (under a bed) -My first Logitech PC controller (near the computer) -My analogue Logitech PC controller (in a desk) I now have lost -An "idiot's guide" book -Almost all of my Feynman lecture books (these have been missing for so long, and after I took them to work, that I think it's possible they were stolen) -A book on material deposition and characterization (has been missing so long I no longer seriously expect to get it back; I can't remember if I loaned it out or not) -My Casio 115ES calculator (should be at home, I think) It seems like there's something else I'm missing... I was at the bank this morning on the way to the vet. I was filling out the stuff for the bank when I remembered doing some paperwork at work I needed my ID for ... and then I remembered, my hands were full so I just put it in the trunk after that rather than back in my wallet. When we got back from the vet, I checked the trunk. It wasn't where I left I left it since it shuffled around, but I found it soon enough.

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	The thought only just recently occurred to me that back when Crawl and I were living in the shoebox apartment that caught fire, I had two cutting boards - a wooden one and an acrylic one. Though I do not remember them getting destroyed in the flooding (they wouldn't have been on the floor and they were washable anyway), I only just now realize that both had gone missing. I never once thought about them the whole time we were at the other apartment, but somehow, when we moved to the new house, I was reminded of them and remembered that I hadn't seen them since the days in the shoebox. I wonder if someone stole them out of the apartment in the confusion, but why steal those of all things? Someone once borrowed our Rayovac lantern and left it turned on, so the batteries drained out, but at least they still left it in the apartment. Seems like those lanterns would've been more worth stealing. I guess the other possibilities are that I accidentally left them behind in the kitchen or that they're still tucked away in a box somewhere. I lost it before we moved and I don't believe it turned up in the move, so... What really annoys me is that I've also recently lost my Sharp 506w. That was the Scientific I had been using the most lately. I've also lost my old 128 MB SD card. That card would have been just the right size for my calculator. If I wanted another for a camera, it'd make more sense to buy a huge 4GB, or whatever, card for that. I don't think they even make cards that small anymore. On the other hand, I don't know if a 50g can use a card that's bigger than 2GB. I do that every so often, though I'm surprised I did it tonight, because I was using a network cable, and I did remember to pack that. That was the Scientific I had been using the most lately. Alright, I found that! I first thought it might be in my bookbags somewhere, but it didn't seem to be, in any pouches. Then I though maybe I took it out of my bags to lighten the load, especially when I went on a trip, but I didn't see it any obvious place where I might have put my stuff. I found it in my trunk. It must have fallen out of my laptop case when it was in there and partially open. I think, in terms of scientific calculators, I might like to use the 506w even more than the HP35s, for some reason.
