That ebay guy who sent me the "mint" filthy controllers a week late just called me a dick for leaving him neutral feedback. That was fun, and now I get to report him for harassment, too. Another feedback he received reported the same type of nonsense, so he must resort to this whenever something doesn't go his way.

I forgot to post my progress. I made enough money to buy the Half Plate in DW. I didn't feel like walking back to save, so I decided to walk over to Rimuldar, instead. I didn't really have any gold left to lose if I were to die. I hung around there until I reached level 9. It wasn't very profitable, though. The inn is 50+ gold, and I was needing to use it every three battles or so. I was able to pick up a couple of magic keys.

I went back to Tantagel to save and use my keys. I got the Stones of Sunlight.

I had already picked up the Fairly Flute in Kol earlier because I remembered where it was.

I went to Garinham and started the dungeon, but I guess I need one or more keys to use within the dungeon itself as well. I'll come back later.

Update: I made it to level 10 and bought the Broad Sword.

I just beat Tiny Toon Adventures. I liked it more than I thought I would, but it could have been a lot better.

There are challenging spots, but it's a little bit uneven throughout. It starts off super easy, gets really tricky, then eases back a bit (especially Wacky Land), then gets tough again at the end. Some folks here might consider it quite easy. I've seen people online say that it's unfair- a likely comment from someone playing it with save states thinking about how "impossible" it would be to beat the game without them. Contra lives code sort of deal, they don't play normally because there's no risk.

Platformers do take me a while to master, though, even the simpler ones. I've been playing this off and on for a few days. But I'd often quit if I lost a few lives or got a Game Over, which is why I didn't actually complete it earlier.

The game is really short, even including the restarts. Worlds 1, 2, 3, and 4 each have three stages and a boss. World 5 (Wacky Land) is one slightly long, but pretty easy stage. World 6 is the final area only, not as long as three full stages.

I ended up using a few continues in the final level. Part of that was due to a misunderstanding of game mechanics (I didn't know I could slide through an enemy without taking damage).

The last boss (Max) was very easy, and there wasn't anything to really set it apart from any of the other bosses. The boss battles were all pretty simple, but were at least all fairly different in how you had to beat them.

I didn't watch the opening story sequence until just now. Apparently Max has kidnapped Babs for absolutely no reason except maybe to lure Buster into a trap. I don't remember Max trying to directly harm the other characters in the cartoon. Rather, he'd do something bad for money or power or something, and the other characters would stop him. It's been a long time since I've watched it, though.

I got the sense from the whole game that it was made by some people that had watched a couple of episodes of the cartoon and worked from there (and since the game was made in Japan, they probably didn't even know what was going on).

The soundtrack is awful, 75% of the game features an NES version of the Tiny Toons cartoon opening.

I think he's probably more upset because he left me a positive feedback first, about a week after the auction was over, which read: thanks! PLEASE LEAVE 5-STAR FEEDBACK!!! *****

It's a little unusual to get positive feedback before you've received the item, so I think he knew he was late and that the quality was bad, and this was kind of a bribe/advertisement to get me to leave positive in return.

And I don't mean that it took a week to get here, I mean that he took a week to get it to the Post Office. I feel bad if it takes me two days to get a package sent out.

It always used to scare the crap out of me when one of my NES games would freeze or crash while making a noise.
