They got GI Joe--too low on the list, obviously, but it's still on there--and even niche stuff like Danger Mouse (really great show), so I can't hate
on them too much. Simpsons and Flintstones are obvious musts, as well. I think their list is about as decent as such a list can get, really. Though not
including Rocko's Modern Life was of course iffy. ;-)

I can kind of understand missing Samurai Pizza Cats (though I would agree it's better than some things on there) because it's rather obscure and
didn't seem to last very long, but the fact that they left off an enduring, iconic show that defined a whole generation and era, contained one of Lorenzo
Music's greatest roles in voice-over acting, and was ripped off by some of the things they put on there pretty much nullifies anything positive
that could be said about that list.

I think I said this before, but if the kids my age liked GI Joe more than Transformers, they said it was because GI Joe was "more realistic" than
Transformers. Those kids were kind of stupid.
I've heard some people say they're worried that the new GI Joe movie will just be a Snake Eyes-fest, but wasn't the only reason to watch GI Joe was to hope Snake Eyes and/or Storm Shadow would show up? Much like how the only reason anyone really liked Thundercats was because Panthro had nunchucks. |

I don't mind people liking GI Joe, but I don't personally see the appeal of it. Maybe it really is more of a "boy" thing, even moreso than
Transformers or Real Ghostbusters.

It is. Little boys who were 8 years old and fantasized about being in the army thought it would be like in GI Joe.
They had other blatant "boy" things (and that made no sense other than as an appeal to little boys), like Joes who were football players or WWF wrestlers. |

I knew a kid who was a GI Joe fan and had a lot of the toys, including a Cobra playset -- I think it was this one -- and I do have to admit it was pretty cool.
But boy was the show stupid. There was one that actually was based on making a joke literal. Holy crap at that Youtube video. I can't believe how gay that is. Barbeque -- his name, his voice, his interest in decorating his apartment, his making of "flaming" burgers. That almost has to be intentional. |

And the whole Cobra Gym scene. O_o And especially that guy that's the head of it who calls them "Spoilsports".
Maybe it really is a great show after all... |

If you had any doubts that the G I Joe movie would be any good or not... well, it's from the director of the Mummy movies, Van Helsing, and the live-action
Jungle Book. Yeah...

This is off topic, but my mother saw The Mummy 2 in theaters, and talked about how much she liked it. I think we might have even seen it twice. So, I got it
for her on DVD for some holiday, and she opened the present, looked quizzical like she didn't know what it was or why that would be a gift, and said,
"Oh? This?"

well, it's from the director of the Mummy movies, Van Helsing, and the live-action Jungle Book. Yeah... My mother and another family member rented the live action Jungle Book years ago, right around the same time they rented Paulie. I don't remember jack squat about the Jungle Book now, but I do remember telling them I wasn't going to watch movies with them anymore because they always rented things that were really bad. |

Isn't Devastator a 6 Constructicon combiner only in Generation 1? I think that would bias me against all the other series.

For me, Transformers never had anything more going for it than the fact that there were big robots and lasers. I didn't really care much about the former,
and there was more than enough of the latter in nearly every episode of G.I. Joe. Now that I'm older, I'm able to watch and enjoy the G.I. Joe episodes
all over again. They definitely have a terrific sense of humor and there's some great fantasy to them. A lot of it is mystical, so I'd agree that the
show isn't more realistic than Transformers. It's just more fun for me, someone who doesn't see the appeal in huge robots (I don't get Gundam
and Robotech, either).

The few times I tried watching (the original) Transformers or GI Joe, I was bored out of my skull. I don't know what the deal with GI Joe was, but with
Transformers it's possible that it was because I only saw the post-Optimus Prime episodes.
Now, Beast Wars, I WAS able to get into on my own, but I admit the beginning episodes were a little slow. But that's still no excuse for leaving it off. ReBoot was just the opposite - it started out good, but got ruined in the third season when it became The Angsty Adult Enzo Show. (But I'd still seriously rather watch that than some of the things they have on there.) |

Screw the internet, that show was awesome! >:( Did you know Tim Burton himself wrote a few of the episodes? Aww, man! According to wikipedia, Wacky Races only ran for 17 episodes. What an injustice!
