Well, good, he woke up at 5 am and went on a rampage instead of 4 am, so maybe it isn't the alarm clock. Unfortunately, he seems to have WAY more energy at
night than he ever does during the day.
I think this cat is insane or something. He rolls over on his back, slides under the bed, and pulls himself along by putting his claws up into the underside of the bed.
It seems like now Mel only hisses and growls at him when she thinks he's going to pounce on her. I've gotten them to play in close proximity to each other with no problem. But he was "stalking" Mel around the house last night and hid behind a storage tote, in the same manner Mel does when she wants to pounce on Pepper. She saw him there and began hissing and growling and that was the first time she had done that all day.
Of course, it hasn't really stopped Mel from doing that to Pepper completely. They got into a small tussle this morning, but this time it did seem like Mel backed off on her own.
I know Crawl said he didn't understand why I got a third cat, but I went through this whole topic again yesterday and right before I got Hermes, almost every post he made was one about Mel and Pepper fighting, and he kept saying how it was getting worse with each one. Despite the problems he's caused, introducing him has definitely cut down on the Mel/Pep sparring.
Mel was sleeping in the cat bed in the lookout this morning. She was so cute and got really happy to see me.
One thing reading through this topic made me realize - Mel's voice has changed. She doesn't really sound like a person imitating a cat anymore. I think that was her "kitten" voice, and she's now got an adult cat voice. It's still cute, though, but I can't honestly say she sounds like Ryo-Ohki anymore.
