Considering that we have to feed the kitty, it's like we're "spreading the wealth".
When she was up there, she knocked over FO's box of cereal, which I guess scared her, because she then ran off. Anyway, we don't have to worry that the kitty is completely unaware of the litter box upstairs. The last thing that happened before I left for work was that it went upstairs and took a dump (I cleaned it up on my way out). I just hope she's not doing that so she can wipe her ass on the carpet upstairs after a dump without us knowing. She still has trouble centering the shit in the box. I gave her a treat before I left, too. But she only ate it after I put it in her food dish. She wouldn't eat out of my hand (she just licked my fingers), or off the top of the cat castle. So, I don't know if we'd be able to entice her into the kitty carrier with a treat. |

That is a pretty cat. I wouldn't guess it was a stray just from those pictures. It looks healthy.

She spent a lot of her time the past couple of days licking herself clean. As a result, she looks a lot fluffier and less dirty now then she did when we
first brought her in.
She went nuts this morning when I ate my breakfast. She really wanted my milk, but I didn't give her any. |

Sounds like somebody was giving her milk. Maybe that's where she got her diarrhea.

Could a cat get diarrhea from eating plants?

I wouldn't be surprised if people were putting out bowls of milk for her. It's a very common misconception that milk is a good thing to feed cats.
She's had a couple of moments of grouchiness. She was sleeping on the computer chair yesterday and she hissed at me when I went to move her. Earlier tonight, she climbed up on top of Crawl as he was lying on the bed and she started to fall asleep. As she fell asleep, she began sliding off of him. Crawl tried to catch her and push her back up and she turned around and hissed at him, too. I've drawn the conclusion from this that she doesn't like being suddenly motioned at or moved when she's asleep or half-asleep. I wonder if that's a fear she developed from living outside. |

I think a cat is more likely to vomit than get diarrhea from eating plants, but don't quote me on that.

We've had a little bit of trouble getting her to play. I know cats tend to be lazy, but she seems young and agile, but she just likes loafing around.
My mother's Itty Bitty cat, if you throw one of her toys, will chase and "hunt" it. Our cat seems uninterested in that. FO noticed that she seems to like being lazy while playing. Like, she might play with a toy, but she'll do it by batting at it while otherwise not moving. So, I had the idea of laying down on my stomach, facing her, and just kind of moving one of her toys around in front of her. It seemed like it might have gotten her a little more interested. When I did that with the sock toy, she "captured" it and held it down with her paw. Later, I saw her rolling around and wrestling with her toys. She was bitting at the little bell on the sock. I hope she doesn't bite it off and swallow it. |

Does she have six toes on her front paws or are they just really large?

I wondered if she had a deformity there (like a cat version of a club foot), but I'm not familiar with cats or what's normal for them, so I don't
really know.
There is one "lobe" that is really big -- I think it's just one single thing, not two toes. |

I thought from the picture of her lying on the floor with her paws stretched out that she was a kitten because it looks like she hasn't "grown
into" her feet yet. But she looks larger in the chair picture because the chair gives a sense of scale. Maybe she just has really big paws, but the vet
will know if there's any other problem there.
Good call on not giving her milk. My cats love it, but it always upsets their stomachs, so I never give it to them anymore. |

Caramel sounds like a nice "official" name, but I have a bad habit of just calling things what they are (maybe that's why Honen does that so much
in the RAU Gallery), so it might be hard for me to stop calling her "kitty".
I'm not really too concerned about the weird-looking paws. She doesn't have any problems getting around and doesn't show any signs of being in pain. If it's something that needs to be treated, I'm sure the vet will tell us more, but right now it doesn't seem to be a critical thing. |

looks like you guys are leaving too many stuff on the floor for her to destroy. and maybe she dislocated something on her paw.

Man, how can a cat how NO idea how to eat out of a person's hand? I put some treats in my palm, and she licked my fingers, then kind of bit them. Then I
moved the treats to the edge of my fingers, where she was licking anyway, and she licked the other fingers and bit them again.
I think the only way to feed her a treat is to put it in her food bowl. At least when she "bit" me, it was kind of gentle and not hard enough to hurt, let alone puncture the skin, but sheesh. |

My one cat refuses to eat out of my hand. It'll just stare at the treats longingly until I put them on the floor. The other cat just gobbles them up so
quickly out of my hand that it feels like I'm feeding something at a petting zoo.

Yeah, FO told me that cat's don't really eat out of hands. I'll just have to figure out how to play with her without getting bit.
