"But that lasted about a day." I love Obama in sarcastic mode.

I like how CNN acted like Ed Henry really socked it to him in that debate afterwards. Reminds me of certain internet people.

"My freedom will be taken away! I'm a California doctor who must choose between my faith and my job!" Uh, what? Why should being a doctor have anything to do with gay marriage? When I see things like that, I wonder if those expressions are speaking in code to people who already agree and are designed to be incomprehensible to outsiders? Or do they know their arguments have no substance, so they have to be vague (like the "I like games that are fun" for videogames.) I guess what they're saying is, My freedom to discriminate against people will be taken away! I want to be a doctor, but I don't want to have to save the lives of icky gay people! They're taking the issue far beyond same sex couples! I'd be totally fine with gay marriage, so long as the marriages were performed on the moon, the marriage was only recognized by the Lunar government, and those that were married stayed on the moon forever so I and my children wouldn't have to even be reminded of their existence! |

If you took game marriage opponents' arguments literally (instead of as code), it's like they're saying, "Now we'll be forced to gay
marry! And we'll be forced to perform the gay marriage ceremony, too! If a gay man walks into my cathedral and wants to gay marry me, another man, right
then and there, there's nothing I or the priest or anyone else will be able to do to stop it!"

Actually, that would be really fun.

I love the fact that they're against gay marriage, yet they're calling themselves a "rainbow
coalition".

Did a tax cut go through? I noticed less was taken out of my paycheck last week

Yeah, I forget the exact figures but you should be getting slightly more take home pay.

That's certainly a good thing. It'll help make up for me having to owe taxes this year (which I believe to be the fault of the place I got laid off
from.) I also found out I'm making 50 cents more an hour on the job I have now than what they said I would be making. Hey, every little bit adds up.

I saw the weirdest thing on the news the other day. Obama was talking about closing the tax loopholes for people who get out of paying taxes by using tax
havens. (Like Krusty did on the Simpsons)
The weird thing was that a commentator said that would make an "uneven playing field" because everyone who uses tax shelters would still have to pay taxes! Yes... That's the point....
