I spent money I don't have to buy Bowser's Inside Story to play on my vacation. WTF is the matter with me?

Well, for a vacation, $40 isn't too bad.
We'll need to get a new digital camera. I had the old one in my pocket like an idiot, something hit the power button so it turned on, but there wasn't room for the lens to come out, so it came out diagonally and got stuck. And I haven't been able to fix it. At least one moral of that story is that digital cameras also need hard cases. I used to throw $40 down on stuff without a second thought, but now I agonize over almost every thing I purchase.

I made a donation to the cat shelter.

I checked the shelter's "Wish List" and decided that (so long as I can afford to) whenever I get coupons for items on their wish list that I
don't need for myself, I'll buy the items and donate them. This week, I have two coupons for dish soap that are expiring soon, and that's on the
list so I'll get both. I don't know if they use antibacterial or normal soap, but I'll get one of each just in case. I don't need dish soap
right now, but if they only use one or the other kind I can just keep one and put it in storage.

I won a set of four cat mugs in a silent auction at the cat shelter fundraiser Halloween party.

We got a larger microfiber dog bed. It was intended for Lady. But Pepper was the first cat to get all the way in and settle in!

I think the fan for my laptop is dying. But better that than the harddrive. I just need to figure out where I should take it.

Mega Bloks' construction sets seem to have some serious quality issues (that turret couldn't actually fit together the way the instructions said, so I had to improvise with what I got), but their Halo mini-figures were definitely worth getting. |

I took my laptop to Best Buy around 9 AM this morning. It's usually only open at 10 AM, but I guess they're open early due to Thanksgiving week. (I
checked a couple of other places, and they didn't open until later).
The guy there told me that for repairs like fan replacements, they have to send the machines out, and there's a 2 week turn around time. Yikes. Maybe the other local places would be able to do it on site. But in the meantime, I bought one of those cooling fan mats for my laptop. Maybe I won't even need to repair the fan if that's enough. List of things we've bought recently:
A new cat carrier - bought this right before we took Mel and Hermes to the vet to get their claws done because Mel has outgrown the small carrier and I refused to try shoving her into it. (Pepper is the only cat of ours that can realistically fit into the small carrier now.) A lawnmower - I got one on closeout sale for about $170 at Menard's. It seems like it does a pretty good job. At one point, it stopped running and Crawl had a hard time getting it started again, but once it did, it seemed to work fine after that. Five Solar Powered Lights - to light the side walkway that goes to our driveway at night. However, one of them doesn't work, so I'll have to take it back and exchange it tomorrow. Two concrete garden kitties - I completely cleaned up the front yard and gardens and felt that while it was a mess before, it looked a little too barren afterwards. I found a local nearby place that sells garden decorations and found two medium-sized kitties for a good price. Neither are painted. I might paint them myself someday. One is a tabby and the other is a more "generic" kitty with a bow tied around its neck. A concrete garden dragon - The same place had dragons for 40% off and I got one that's a little bigger than the kitties. It's really cute. I put the kitties in the lefthand garden and the dragon is in the righthand garden. I have to curb my spending until I get back to work again, but I also want to get one more cat tree for the sun room. Hermes is the only cat nimble enough to get in the righthand window and I'd like to put a tree in front of it so that the others can, too. Unfortunately, the one I want is $135 and even though the pet store selling it had a recent sale on cat trees, that one wasn't put on sale (which was dumb, because that meant that some more elaborate trees cost less, although those ones I don't want because Pepper wouldn't be able to use them. I'm pretty sure Pepper could climb the one I want because it's set up like stairs.) |

However, one of them doesn't work, so I'll have to take it back and exchange it tomorrow.I put the "broken" light in the bag to return it and it lit up. I guess it just took longer to charge than the others for some reason. |

Bought a new pair of sneakers and a 1 terrabyte external harddrive. Those are the extent of my black Friday deals.

We bought a set of 12 cookie cutters that were supposed to be on sale at Target for $4.98 (originally $9.99). But the price wasn't changed in the system
and I had to haggle with the cashier a little. I told her I could take someone back to show them the sign where it clearly said that they were on sale for that
price, but she said I didn't have to and gave it to us for the sale price.

Ah yes, the sale sign walk. Good times.

I tried as best I could not to be an asshole about it, but $6 is a pretty big deal to me right now.
I also had to go on a sign-walk awhile back in Kroger because they stopped selling the Prego Lasagnas and I got the last one... after the price had been removed from the system. |

Well, I never really minded. I was annoyed that the sign or whatever was left up when it shouldn't have been, but that's all. Usually on Sunday morning
there were still a few signs from the week that ended Saturday.

That probably wasn't what happened there, since the sign explicitly mentioned the sale dates.

I bought a couple of roadmaps because I need them for going on job interviews and other places. I usually get instructions from Google maps, but sometimes
they're wrong or have minor inaccuracies and I've gotten a little lost a few times because of that. I usually don't mind it, but I wouldn't
want to be late for an interview because of that. I got one roadmap of Chicago and one booklet that has maps of various nearby Illinois cities and areas.
We had an old roadmap in the car but it's outdated and falling apart. The new one is higher-quality paper, too, so I'm hoping it will last longer. "No one can withstand
the power of KAIN"
