I saw Hotel Dusk on the discount shelf at K-Mart so I picked it up. Seems like the sort of thing I'd enjoy, considering Trace Memory and Phoenix Wright. Edit- Forgot, I also had some credit from a refund on Amazon.com so I bought some Star Wars books. I figured I'd get back into the expanded universe starting with the excellent Thrawn trilogy and just follow the timeline from there. The books follow a set continuity. I remember that because he said it had good music. And after the concert, I listened to the whole thing again, beginning to end, and I think it did have some good songs (at the concert, Survivalism and Meet Your Master stood out), but still could be reduced to a few songs on a hypothetical future greatest hits collection. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Posts: 155 (09/24/08 7:22 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I said I bought Ghosts I-IV and Year Zero, and my Year Zero disc was defective or too old to do the color change correctly. It changes color more rapidly with your body heat instead of normal play and doesn't change back to completely black. I also said I bought Mega Man 9 and complained that it was too damn hard. I liked the NES version but not enough to be offended about any changes that might have been made. And some changes, like giving you control over previously AI characters, seem beneficial. I guess this breaks my rule about buying new games, but being a remake, it only breaks it a little bit. I also wandered around a little bit in Hotel Dusk and this game seems to strike my fancy, too. This album was panned by critics when it was first released for not being "80's" enough. Seems to have been vindicated by fans, though. Crystal Gayle - Miss the Mississippi/These Days 2 Album Set - MTM is my favorite Crystal Gayle album.

I couldn't get the last track on the Crystal Gayle CD to rip ("What a Little Moonlight Can Do" on "These Days"). I tried playing it and the track appears to be blank. Checked the comments on this album at Amazon and two people said that the last track on the CD skips throughout play. Must be a defect in the way they were made... I guess if it's any consolation, "These Days" wasn't really what I bought the CD for, but that's still rather annoying.

FO said that you get better quality MP3 by ripping the CD to WAV, then using a specialized program to convert to MP3. But that program would not convert that last track. It kept claiming it was a zero length file. I eventually ripped that one track to MP3 directly. Somewhat similarly, my brother need a patch for his Counterstrike game, but he only has dialup and couldn't get a 200 MB file. So, I burned it to CD and mailed it to him. He said that his computer tells him that the disc has 200 MB of used space, but that it shows the disc as containing no objects. Weird.

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	didn't buy something, but i'll like to annouce that my bata leather shoes didn't last more than 4 months. just like all the bata shoes i ever bought. it's falling apart rapidly. i'm not sure it can last the month. the hard insole for my right shoe has fallen out. my attempts to stick it back with various glues have failed. the interior fabric is either worn out or look like it's...it's melting?!? i hope it's not too flammable. the treads are almost smooth now. i'm thinking of buying a better quality pair of goatskin doc marten's, but i'm on a seriously tight budget. my pa still has trouble holding a job, and my company doesn't want to pay me an annual bonus. i'm sure i'm the best man they have on that assignment but i doubt they would even give me an assistant supervisor paycheck unless i work like 72hrs in a roll like some of their relief personel. not what i agreed on.

As if this wasn't annoying enough, the next-to-last track, "Lover Man", ripped, but it starts skipping about halfway through. Other people who bought this CD set have complained of this, too. "Lover Man" didn't sound like a very good song from what I heard of it, but it's still aggravating. Today, I got: Linda Ronstadt - Simple Dreams - I was lazy about getting this one on CD (I already have it on vinyl and cassette) because I already had Blue Bayou, Tumbling Dice, and Poor Poor Pitiful Me on a Greatest Hits CD. But I kind of like Carmelita, Simple Man Simple Dreams, and Maybe I'm Right, too, and it was only $7, so I finally sprung for it. Seether - Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces Van Halen - OU812 - Crawl has a lot of Van Halen albums, but it was annoying me that after listening to some of my favorite Van Halen tracks at work, I couldn't end by playing When It's Love.
