I finished my replay of Donkey Kong Country. Boss Dumb Drum has to be the most pointless boss in gaming history. Between the weak enemies it pours on you, and the predictable way it tries to smash you, it's like it (and Rare) wasn't even trying.
I had been finding the game, if not difficult, than at least challenging enough to keep me on my toes. But I pretty much breezed through all of Chimp Caverns.
K. Rool took me maybe five or six tries. A few of those were just figuring out the method for avoiding his fast hops during the final phase.
I don't think I'll be trying to increase my completion percentage. Finding the bonuses in the other two games can be amusing, but it seems more like a chore in this one, and with no reward.
All in all, an enjoyable experience and I still think this is a pretty solid game, overshadowed by it's much more impressive sequel. One thing that made an impression on me is how perfect the play control is.
