If so, where is it?

The new one has a snout; I think FO's oldest drawings of him are simply without a nose.

It's a very blunt nose, but it's there. The reason I changed the old design to include a nose is because I just think it looks better (and it also
makes him look less like a South Park character.)

He's a Dominic Deegan character.

That was unnecessary.

He'd only be a Dominic Deegan character if he was a human. But he's not human, so his race is entitled to have noticeable differences. Also, I worked
out that part of his design long before I ever even heard of DD.
I think this might have been one of the first pictures in which it was noticeable: And I just think that looks better than this:
Oh my God, they found Tom.

He looks like a South Park character in the old comics.
I just started reading these sketches this morning and I got up to "Don't Take My Bubu Away". (I'm trying not to read any of the topics in this forum about the most recent sketches because I don't want spoilers.) I'm really, really impressed so far. I didn't even think "Temple of Lost Ezboard Posts" was as bad as your introduction warned it would be. I was just thinking lately that the internet doesn't make me laugh as much as it used to, but this went a long way to make up for it. ----- There is no spoon! |

He looks like a South Park character in the old comics.Been noted. I just started reading these sketches this morning and I got up to "Don't Take My Bubu Away". I didn't even think "Temple of Lost Ezboard Posts" was as bad as your introduction warned it would be.Thanks. "Temple of Lost Ezboard Posts" is kinda bad, imo. One way I can tell that it's bad is that I read Nucleo in a different voice in that sketch than I do for all the others. One problem is that I was trying WAY too hard to parody that cartoon/movie archetype of the character who gets overexcited about making a discovery and I extrapolated far too much. Some parts were also funnier when it was on the forums. The Overlord/Kharg dialogue wasn't as funny in the final result because in the original forum version of the sketch, Maru was the director, not the Overlord. But I had no way of making that make sense in the site version because it had to do with other topical issues at the time, and nor could I come up with any reason an episode would be getting directed by an RPG character, so I changed Maru to the Overlord. (On the forums, it made more sense because I was posting in other topics with the Prince Maru account at the time.) And the part where they go back and forth making fun of each other for the way they looked in my older crap isn't as funny to me as it was when I first wrote that. For one thing, I've made fun of that same subject in other sketches, and in those sketches it wasn't the main joke (see both "Best Enemies, Worst Friends" and "Moonbuggy Love" for a couple of examples.) Plus, it's just really too wordy, and to think I had actually cut down on a lot of the dialogue from the original sketch. I'm not going to take it down, but I just want it to be clear that I don't really see it as a shining example of the best my writing can be.

These are some really good line drawings. I wasn't expecting this and got taken by surprise by it. It's a lot more consistent and stylized than the stuff I remember you posting years ago was. ----- There is no spoon! |

Thanks again. I do think that one of Nucleo with the shovel is one of the best things I've drawn recently.
You know, I was kind of concerned lately that my shorter characters' heads look too big, but when I saw the episode of The Muppet Show that had Leo Sayer (who's a short person) as the guest, I noticed his head looked really big. (Maybe it didn't help that he had a big afro, but still...it probably indicates my proportions aren't necessarily far off.)

Leo Sayer is kind of proportioned ... differently.
Cartoons tend to have proportionally bigger heads anyway. |

Yeah, but so are Nucleo and Honen. They might be even shorter than him.

I still think Honen must be like those reptiles that smell with their tongue. "No one can withstand

Flying Omelette wrote: This is sort of interesting. I found this link at Guru Dean's place: http://www.cagle.com/news/blog/ It's a blog of some sort that posted various comics that depicted George Carlin at the Gates of Heaven. Most of them use the same basic joke (about how he can't say those 7 words in heaven) but the funniest ones are the ones that express that joke in the fewest words. In fact, I'd say the first one was the funniest, but even that one could have been made a little funnier by removing the "Yeah,".

Man, one is so wordy, it's edging into Tim
Buckley territory. One makes him look like he was
110 years old. This is maybe the only one that
doesn't reference the 7 words routine. And this one makes no sense, and why would he even have to be dead for that one? He's
not giving a show in heaven; they're just listening to him on IPODS.
I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to say "fuck" in heaven anyway. It reminds me of that part in Huckleberry Finn where Huck said that heaven sounded so boring that he'd rather go to hell. |
