Do you mean when people call into the radio station to have a song dedicated to someone?
The only reason I hate it when they have listener request blocks is that if you're listening to an oldies station, you WILL hear The Beatles' "Happy Birthday to You", or whatever it's called. Because it's always someone's birthday and someone will always want that song dedicated to them.

I think they're dumb because only the writer of a song can dedicate it to anyone. Notice that people don't dedicate books or movies to other people --
except, again, the people who made those things.
I also hate the expression "long-distance dedication" |

One thing that was weird was awhile ago, when FO and I were eating out, the restaurant was playing some old Casey Kasem top 40 count down from the
'80's. And, yeah, he did a "long distance dedication".
