I was looking through Google tonight and I stumbled across an earlier topic on this forum asking where HonestGamer.com went. I see that my site is no longer linked from flyingomelette.com and I read through the topic to find that it was removed from the links page during the site's prolonged downtime.
Basically, the situation is that the domain was stolen by domain pirates. It expired and even though I paid to renew, they somehow beat me to it (probably by seconds). They then refused to open any negotiations I attempted to reclaim the domain. They just wanted my established traffic to advertise one of those garbage search engine sites. So I got a new domain: honestgamers.com and the site has been there since.
During that time, I also had a lot of personal things going on, so I wasn't visiting these forums for a bit. I'm sorry that I didn't let anyone here know about it, but it honestly slipped my mind around that time. I've visited since--as you all know--but I never really thought to address that issue. I knew you had removed the link, but I didn't put two and two together when it came to the possible reason.
If you'd like to put up a link to honestgamers.com, I'd certainly be grateful. More sites linking to mine is good for business, so to speak. Plus, I know a lot of my content (now more than ever) will appeal to a lot of you people. This year in particular I'm making a real push for retro content, and now users can rate their favorite games and so forth. It's really a good way to kill some time if you're bored, and I'm sure a lot of your users will feel the same way. You can even set up your own gamer blogs, if you've been thinking about making blogs, and they will link to any content you've contributed on the site. You can also link to your favorite sites, such as this one, which would help flyingomelette.com to achieve better ratings.
Anyway, I hope you'll consider it. I miss having flyingomelette.com link to my site, and I'd hate for that situation to continue just because of poor communication on my part. On a mostly unrelated note, how do I change my sig here on yuku? I'd like to bring it a little more up to date and I can't seem to find a way to do it!
