In the 90's, Seinfeld and Newsradio.
In the 00's, Arrested Development and...I think House, MD should count as a sitcom because it's so damn hilarious.

I'm not much of a sitcom-watcher. I have enjoyed Night Court, Cheers (after Shelley Long left), Sanford and Son, Arrested Development, The Jeffersons,
Designing Women (before Delta Burke left), and The Simpsons in the past. I've seen considerably less of Seinfeld and Newsradio, but mostly liked what I
saw. There were a couple of seasons of Coach I liked, but that show started out bad, had a few good seasons, and then got really bad again.

A top 5:
1. Strangers With Candy 2. The Office (UK) 3. The Adventures of Pete & Pete 4. Curb Your Enthusiasm 5. The Young Ones Reno 911 might've made it on but only the first two seasons are really any good. |

I don't know. When I was a kid, and particularly when we had cable, I used to watch a lot of TV shows. I don't know if they were
"favorites" in any way, or if it was just something to do.
Like, I used to watch Gilligan's Island a lot. Now, would I like that now? I have a little skepticism about that. I also used to watch a lot of prime time sitcoms in the early '80's, maybe because my mother did. We watched Family Ties, Cheers, Night Court, The Cosby Show. Also, we had some babysitters that would watch shows like Mr. Belvedere, Small Wonder (damn, that must have been a stupid show), Webster. Somehow I also watched Charles in Charge, Different Strokes, The Hogan Family, Alf, Webster... I saw Golden Girls and Empty Nest with my Grandmother. Honestly, I don't know if I can list all the sitcoms I've watched from the '80's. I must have wasted huge portions of my life with a lot of crap. And how much of that do I even remember? Not much. The only thing I can think of as favorites would be things that I've watched recently and remember. Compared to the '80's, I don't watch much for sitcoms anymore! My mother was still watching Fraiser, Just Shoot Me, and Will and Grace after I cut my TV consumption way down. My grandmother has recommended Two and a Half Men several times, which I've never seen, and she used to recommend Everybody Loves Raymond. I think my sister must still watch a lot of TV. I think they might get satellite TV or something; she's mentioned some HBO series she watches. So, anyway, the only shows I could say would be favorites would be things that are more recent that I can actually remember. Another good way of rating sitcoms would be, how many DVD sets do I have? I only have DVD sets of three sitcoms: 1. Arrested Development (full series, three sets) 2. The Simpsons (I don't know exactly how many - at least seasons 2 to 7, so 6 sets) (I also don't know if this counts as a sitcom) 3. Seinfeld (one set -- based on the Amazon description, it sounds like season 6)

I've also seen a few episodes of Taxi and I liked that, too.
As for older sitcoms, I actually haven't seen too much of them. The only episode of I Love Lucy that I know for a fact I saw all the way through was the one with the candy on the conveyor belt. But I think I only saw one episode of The Honeymooners and I didn't like it. I do think I'm generally more into sketch comedy, though.
