That might have been the PC version, actually, and was supposed to be scaled full-screen.

Carl "Oldy" Olson from Late Night with Conan O'Brien I thought it was the same actor when we watched the movie, but they're different. |

I couldn't find any pictures, but in an episode of Dexter's Lab, there's a talking dog that is very similar to the character "Dug" in
Disney/Pixar's Up!
They have similar mannerisms, speech patterns, personalities, and... they're the same type of dog! They both also gain the ability to speak through the aide of an extremely intelligent scientist (Dexter in the DL episode's case. The bad guy in Up! I can't remember for certain about how the dog in DL was able to talk, but if it was through the aide of a specially collar, then that's something else that is the same. But, I don't think that was the case in DL, though I could be mistaken.) However, when I was looking for pictures, I found someone else had made the same comparisson. Someone else's response was literally "Well, it's a Pixar movie, so it has to be original!" UGH. And I guess that A Bug's Life isn't based on the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper, either? Are we going to pretend like the Incredibles aren't just a shameless ripoff of the Fantastic Four? This is a case that actually could be coincidence, but surely someone who worked on Up! must have seen that episode of Dexter's Lab. It should also be noted that the episode with the talking dog is the BEST episode of Dexter's Lab, ever.

But, I don't think that was the case in DL, though I could be mistaken. I'm pretty sure I've seen that "dog is able to talk when it wears a special collar" thing before, but I don't know where. It wouldn't have been Dexter's Lab because I've never seen that show. It would've been something older, probably from the 80's or 90's. |

At least there have been special or magical collars before. Brain has a high tech collar.
Then there was The Cat From Outer Space (with picture). I could have sworn there was a movie like that one, but where the cat loses the collar and spends most of the movie trying to find it, but maybe I'm confused. |

Brain has a high tech collar.I misread that as Brian, as in the dog from Family Guy, and that's now got me wondering if he was named after Brain, considering the 80's references in that show. I can't seem to find anything on the magical talking dog collar, but I'm positive I've seen it somewhere, and I remember part of the episode being that the dog loses the collar and can't talk when it's important. |

There's an episode of Family Guy where Brian is put in a dog show. The announcer accidently reads his name as "Brain."

Did King Dedede's hat always have that horn on the front? I've only just now noticed it. He's not really enough of a Honen SAB to count it, but it makes me wonder where I got the design idea for Honen's attire. It's obviously not from Dedede because Honen is much older, but I honestly have no idea how I formed that design anymore. |

I don't think that's a horn, anyway. It looks like it's supposed to be a big piece of fabric.

Yeah. It's probably because of the way it looks in 3D. It looked shiny and made of metal.
I definitely based Honen's clothing on Mongolian clothing, but I just don't remember where I would have seen it back then to copy from it. (I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up somewhere on Sesame Street. I now think Sesame Street is where I saw that Stanley & Dr. Livingston cartoon years ago, which sort of gave me the idea for Nucleo.) |

Quistis from Final Fantasy VIII
and Dia from Luminous Arc 2
Aside from their similar hair and eye color, hair style, glasses, and are wearing red ties, both are also teachers/instructors (Dia is actually a principal, but same difference). "You ate the wall?? Are you insane?"-Trill, Baten Kaitos

Quistis could almost be a Sarah Palin SAB, too.
I don't have pictures right now (I'll get them later) but I'm sure everyone knows what they look like anyway... Every time I see the Google Chrome logo, I think of the electronic Simon game. Edit - Okay, well, apparently, I'm not the only person to notice that. And that search result turns up a few other Google Chrome SAB's that other people have noticed, too.

I have a feeling that was either intentional and / or well-known. "Of the three ways in which men think that they acquire a knowledge of things--authority, reasoning, and experience--only the last is effective and able to bring peace to the intellect." -Roger Bacon |
