Both large vaguely-catlike monster with horns instead of ears. Also, the way the Luncheon Counter Monster was eating everything (drinking glasses, a pitcher, and Nancy Walker's scarf) reminded me a lot of Kiini. It's rather funny to rewatch this show and realize how much it influenced me, though I had forgotten a lot about it, too. If you want to see the Luncheon Counter Monster, roll this up to about 5:38. I heard that after Eren Ozker left the show after the first season, they had a hard time replacing her. They needed to get a female voice actor who could also manipulate her muppets, but it took awhile to find someone who could do both. They have the same head shape and scowl. And there's this one scene in the Dom Deluise episode of The Muppet Show where she's in a cage and breaks out of it. Her head moves forward with practically no articulation which reminds me of the way the Freezies slide around with no animation. For a long time, the unnamed Trumpet Lady in the Pit Orchestra was giving me a strong "Earthbound" vibe, although I couldn't quite remember what it was that she reminded me of... ...but I think I figured it out. I think it's Electra, the maid that wants the Yogurt Dispenser in Fourside... Unless someone else can think of an Earthbound character she looks more like, but they both have the closed eyes with the heavy blue eyeshadow, the bright pink lips curled up in a smile, and the curly blonde hair. Even the outfits are a little similar. Side note #1: It's a little strange to me that the main melody of the Muppet Show theme song is carried by the trumpet, but the trumpeter is the only member of the Pit Orchestra who is unnamed. Site note #2: In season 2, they cut out the part of the opening sequence where Crazy Harry causes an explosion, so now in the ending sequence it looks like he's just sitting in the band for no reason. Edit - Okay, I just watched the Season 1 opening again. He doesn't make an explosion, he plays the triangle. Regardless, Crazy Harry and the triangle have both been removed from the Season 2 opening, yet there he is sitting in the ending.
