I think the trampoline episode in the first season opened up the door for things like that to happen. What the writers of the later seasons didn't understand is that it takes more than just Egon morphing into weird things to be funny. From the trampoline episode: Peter: Egon, are you okay? Egon: Do I LOOK okay? Peter: I retract the question. Every one of those lines is funny. It's not just relying on a lame pun or punchline. And they're timed just perfectly to allow for laughs in-between them without awkward pauses. That episode I screencapped had the potential to be funny (the villain was voiced by Chris "Starscream/Cobra Commander" Latta). It had some potentially-funny jokes, and was tolerable because the situation happened to other characters besides Egon, but like so many other post-Season 1 episodes, suffers from poor timing, Coulier's pathetic excuse for voice acting, and lack of memorable dialogue. That's why I screencapped instead of posting the video in the YouTube topic because it's funnier in pictures than it is in action. So I spend all that time drawing the entire figure, only to lose a good portion of it in the final version.
