The story takes place in a dream world which centers around the piano composer Frédéric Chopin, who died at the age of 39 due to tuberculosis. The plot centers around the concept that three hours prior to his death, Chopin dreamed of a fairy-tale land, in which people with incurable diseases have great magical powers.
In the dream world, Chopin meets a young girl in the Village of Tenuto, Polka, who also suffers from an incurable disease.
Eternal Sonata features a battle system centered around musical elements and character-unique special attacks. Light and darkness plays a part in the appearance and abilities of enemies on the battlefield, as well as the types of magic that can be cast.
The game features a selection of Chopin's compositions played by the pianist Stanislav Bunin, though most of the in-game music was composed by Motoi Sakuraba.

I'm not sure how many people are familiar with this game, but it's got quite an odd story even for an RPG. Just know that whenever somebody is about to
die from a terminal disease, they're really participting in a Japanese RPG when they aren't awake.

I know of it from its JP name of "Trusty Bell". Crappy name in either region. The badguys in it are hot and stuff. Also, the final boss is
hilariously unpredictable and shocking.

LOL! I don't know if he's as bad as Jessica Simpson, but I do think Motoi Sakuraba is somewhat-overrated. Especially since I found out it may have
actually been Shinji Tamura who composed Fighting of the Spirit. I don't know which one did Desolate Road, though.
