Anyway, I've heard some people have taken to using "Snakes on a Plane" as an expression with the same meaning as "shit happens". Then there are some people that wonder, why not just say, "Shit happens?"
I agree. Why would "Snakes on a Plane" have that meaning? To me, the expression would more logically mean either
1) Any juxtaposition (particularly an expression) that combines two disparate things.
For example, one time my grandmother said, in one breathless thought, "They shouldn't allow cars to park on both sides of the street like this, I'm so thirsty I don't know what to do."
That could be a "Snakes on a Plane".
or
2) Any thing that is literally what it is.
For example, naming a book 300 pages of crap could be a "Snakes on a Plane".
