So, as I'm driving through the university on the way to work today, I notice that the big student parking lot is almost completely empty. I quickly go over the days of the week in my mind and convince myself it is Monday. But, who knows, it is early in the morning; many students don't have classes until 10 or 11, and maybe even those with earlier classes are skipping today because of the cold.
When I get to the staff parking lot and it's completely empty, too... and when both doors of my building are locked and I have to use my key card to get it... I know something's up.
I had no idea today was Martin Luther King jr day. No one on Friday said, "See you on Tuesday" (or in the case of my MWF class, Wendsday).
I do have work to do today, so I will stay. But what sucks is, one of the things I really wanted to do today involves using a piece of equipment that someone else is currently monopolizing. Dammit.
I don't like games that are fun.
