In a fit of rage at my bulbs always dying at the worst possible moment, and seemingly constantly, I replaced every one in the house with the compact flourescent type.
They're supposed to have a 7 year life, and when they do get ready to go, they won't immediately fail.
And aside from a slight delay in reaching maximum brightness, I notice no other changes in the brightness or other attributes of the light.
