I wasn't present at the time, but the last time we had our car worked on, the mechanic (who wasn't the one who'd regularly be working on the car) said something about the exhaust system having an issue that would need to be addressed within 6 months or so. Said it could be an expensive repair. I was suspicious about that, since that car had already been looked at by a lot of people recently.
So now, 3 or 4 months later, we took it in for some routine stuff, oil change, etc. But asked to give the car a thorough inspection to check for anything that might be a problem down the road. He said there could be a problem with the shocks, but that it was no imminent issue, and he didn't mention the exhaust thing at all. Interesting.
I'll be miserable the day I have to give this old car up. So many memories.
