Yeah, that's pretty much what I do (with a couple of exceptions**).

First, you have to have Winamp. Then you have to download a plugin that lets you play SPCs and one that lets you play PSFs. I use SNESamp for SPCs and Highly Experimental for PSFs. Both are available at Zophar's Domain. Then I download the soundtracks I want from those two sites I linked above.

The mp3 converter I downloaded came directly from Winamp's site (the plugins section) and is called "Lame MP3 Converter" (yes, that's what it's called). After installing it in the Winamp Plugins folder, click the button upper left corner of the Winamp program, go to Options, Preferences, and then near the bottom in the left column where it says "Plugins" click "Output". Select the Lame MP3 Converter and hit the "Close" button. Now anything you try to play with Winamp will convert directly to an MP3. Note that it doesn't work as well with everything. Seems to work fine for SPCs and PSFs, but when I tried converting NSFs directly to MP3s, they sounded muffled. For those, I'd select the "Nullsoft Disk Writer" option which converts anything played in Winamp to wav files. Then I'd use a separate program to convert those wavs to mp3s. This new computer came with a program that does that. On the Dell, I'd use MusicMatch. Just be sure that when you're done, you change your Winamp settings back to "DirectSound" or "Wav out" output (whichever you prefer) so that you can listen to music with Winamp again instead of making wavs or mp3s.

Sorry I didn't get around to making that Ridley's Lair mp3, but I left work as soon as possible yesterday due to an illness. I didn't want to hang around and risk it getting so bad that I'd have trouble driving home. I'll make one eventually, but if you get impatient, my instructions here should allow you to make one yourself. (If you're capable of downloading the necessary stuff to your PC that is.)

**The exceptions are the Wild Arms and the Dark Savior mp3s. The Wild Arms intro came from another website I found long ago that had some songs from the soundtrack ripped from the OST. The Dark Savior mp3 was made by hooking the Saturn directly to my PC via the Line-in port, and then using the game's Sound Test to record the song with Sound Recorder (which can be found on your PC by goint to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment.)

This reminds me of something. The version of the end credits song that plays during the ending of Ys 3 is slightly different from the version that's found in the sound test. The "real" version has extra instruments on the first loop. The SPC in the set I downloaded is the "bad" version from the sound test, and because of that, the version available on my Top 50 Game Songs feature is the "bad" version. I'll have to use the Sound Recorder method to try to get the "real" version as I think it sounds a little better.
