I usually prefere that games have multiple endings...unless they are achieved poorly, as it sounds like the above FF games have been done.

The combat games approach gives closure to the character's story line. Though, the way SFII did it was rather simplistic. After all, they are little more then flashcards. Why, even my Pumpkin Smashers game has that kind of conclusion reward. Easy to do, they were.

I also prefere long, rewarding endings.

Let us not forget the classic endings to a game..."Game Over." Be glad we have gone beyond that no thought ending.
