Another factor to consider is the people that are actually making the games nowhere near number the amount of people WHO WOULD LIKE TO make games. In the olden days, a lucky programmer at the right place who wanted to make games could get into the industry. Now, the game programmers almost need to qualify for a school college to just hope to get a position as a game maker. Gaming originality might be something that's too brave for these people who have fought to reach the positions they currently have.

Perhaps, it will take a complete gaming community crash in order to bring things back to a more reasonable, less business-like situation.
