At first tonight, for whatever reason, I didn't feel like playing anything, but since FO already had her copy of Contra out, I borrowed it and finished it so as not to fall too far behind.

After that, I was in the mood for Gaiares. I haven't played it in probably a month or two (or more), so I was out of practice, and consequently the game was a little tough for me. That's a good thing, though - sometimes, I like to let myself get out of practice with games I like.

Anyway, the two toughest parts this time were the miniboss before the final boss of ... stage 4, I think (in any case, it's the snake thing in the room where there's an X of free space) and also the boss of the second to last stage. I had forgotten the pattern to that boss.

Nevertheless, I managed to beat the game. This might be my favorite Genesis game so far. Contra Hard Corps might be next (on a short list), but it doesn't seem quite as "fun" to replay, and I don't like the music nearly as much. I'll see what it's like to replay in a few months (though I also *might* try to work that game into the Game-a-thon)
