When I was in school, we were taught that if got struck by lightning while wearing rubber sneakers, the rubber would "insulate" you and you wouldn't get hurt.

When I was in school, we were taught that the T-Rex walked upright on its hind legs, Godzilla-style, with its tail dragging along the ground.

These theories were so profound, that they even made their way into cartoons, like the Transformers.

They are false.

I remember a couple of years ago, when I lived in NJ, all the "expert" meterologists were predicting this 20-inch snowstorm. It caused a panic. People were stocking up on snowshovels and provisions and running store shelves empty as a result. Guess how much snow we actually got? Nothing. Not a single flake.

I've come to the realization that there are some things that human beings are just simply not meant to predict or know, at least not humans on at this level of society and technology.
