I just woke up at like 3:30 from a dream and had to write it's character inspiration down.

The dream had me back in high school, needing a pencil. So, I head to the library to buy one, but have to sort through my wallet for correct change. I lay out the entire contents of my wallet upon a table, when some high school kid walks up and starts jabbering on about why he isn't popular enough, but wants to run for president, which causes a couple girls to walk up and, in the midst of this weird chatter, my cash (laid out on the table) turns into lottery tickets as I'm distracted and the kid takes off with them.

I wake up and start to apply an "in-character" identity to that kid. Which went like this...

Kroc-Teieheans: (Pronounced: croc-teeth-eans) (AKA: Illusionaries)

A race of purple fleshed beings that are generally around three feet in height and make great thieves, due to their "bag of tricks". Ranging from the simple slight of hand and deceitful attention distraction to their naturally ability to project things in the mind's eye/ear/other senses that are not really there, including their own appearance. This ability varies between each individual, but rarely is all that powerful. Most can radiate a convincing image to all that see them inside a small radius, provided the crowd is not too large. But, it is only the strongest that dare try to produce false items and/or beings on any scale larger then one-on-one. None have ever been noted to be able to create a totally false world to their one-on-one targets. Nor, can their species project illusions on one another. As of yet, their own people are the only ones known to have immunity to this ability. However, a telekinetic that is aware of their illusion projections can effectively counter what the Kroc-Teichean is trying to make the person see. Kroc-Teieheans have never been known for strength. But, their tack hammer strikes coupled with the right illusions can fool a target into feeling it with sledge hammer strength. It is also an oddity that their skeletal structure is not all that sturdy. (They can easily be killed in a fist fight with most species.) This may come from their home planet's low gravity force and it's near barren landscape, which keeps their dietary needs on the slim side. It also explains why they choose to stick to the comforts of space over most planetary bodies. However, some of the latest, space born generations have been noted to be naturally countering their frail conditions. It is believed that the rich supply of food aboard many ships is an agent toward this evolutionary state.

Weird, eh?

Then again, a large portion of my PSI 5-2 inspirations came the same way. Oh, how many hours I've spent typing into that ancient 286 computer, way back then... (Long before I was on-line.)
