Hmm, well... that was interesting. F-Zero GX's Story Mode has just gone from "typical racing story with lots of stereotypes" to "defies all but Nintendo logic" in a few short chapters.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

I beat Chapter 7, which was admittedly hard. The cinema started, where Falcon recieved his championship belt. You know, the belt kinda looks like something that you'd find at a dime store. At least, that's what I assumed until the cinema continued and the head honcho bad guy appeared, claiming that he was the F-Zero champion of the underworld. So, apparently there's enough time in the underworld to have a grand prix between eternal suffering and... more eternal suffering. Falcon's challenged to a race in the underworld.

Move on to Chapter 8. Not only does Falcon accept the challenge, he actually knows HOW to get to the underworld. It had a nice door, I'll give it that. "Head honcho bad guy" claims that his belt and my dime store purchase combined contained all the power in the universe. Suddenly the plot goes from "win race and stay alive" to "save world". So, I had to beat him in a race to get both belts.

Chapter 9. I got the belts, and they fused into one belt that contains the evil spirits of the game's programmers. They're trying to get Falcon's soul. The track they challenge Falcon on is rainbow-colored, and consists mostly of Tetris blocks and swirly lights and lines. At this point the plot is anything but feasible. I have to wonder if I should blame SEGA for this somehow, or if I should go the distance and blame what they were smoking.

*END SPOILERS*

Overall, a very interesting experience. Chapter 9 is a pain, but I've beaten Chapters 7 and 8, and managed to go the distance and get "Hard" out of the way on 8. I bought the three new pieces of equipment with the tickets I've been hoarding.
