I made it to the obligatory mine cart ride in Dark Savior. I have to wonder...did Climax become Matrix or Contrail? This game is an awful lot like the Alundra games, and they all have a mine cart ride.

Well, anyway, this one seems harder than the mine cart rides in Alundra 1 and 2 (though nothing else in the game is). Making the jumps is difficult, because the camera is always panning around and it's disorienting. You can see where you're going, but it just makes me feel a little dizzy to have it panning around like that.

Before the mine cart, I just completed a sliding block puzzle - I'm not too fond of those kinds of puzzles, usually, but this one had lines drawn on top of the movable blocks. You could tell where you had to slide them to by matching up the lines. Of course, you can see HOW to do it, but actually doing it still requires you to think things through, so that you don't push a block the wrong way and mess the whole thing up.

So, Dark Savior does have some interesting puzzles, but overall, the energy level is not anywhere near as high as the Alundra games. It's really making me appreciate just how good those games were.
