I was going to try getting through Super Mario Bros. without losing a life. But then I made a really stupid mistake in stage 4-2 and didn't feel like starting again. I might be more interested in playing SMB2j (lost levels) due to the increased level variety. My challenge with that game would be to get as far as possible without running out of extra lives. Trying to beat that whole game without a loss is far beyond my capabilities.

I also played some of Super R-Type, which I know is not considered such a good game compared to the rest of the series. I played on novice mode and lost to the Stage 2 boss. Never made it back to it again. I often make fun of myself for not being good at these kinds of games, and those results back that up. But I just need some practice. I'm not such a bad action gamer if given enough time and motivation to master a particular game. Goldeneye was one such game. I'm not sure if Super R-Type is the shooter to try it with, though.
