I don't think I completed any optional quests today in Morrowind. I've been engrossed in the main plot for a while now and I'll continue with it for a while. If things start getting too difficult I'll do some other quests and level up.

Well, first I talked to the Ashland tribe I mentioned in the other post. I won't even try to spell the name of the tribe properly. Basically, they make you go through a trial to prove yourself, before they'll even talk with you. You have to go through a dungeon and retrieve an item, while fighting various undead enemies. Not too hard at my current level. Once I brought the item back, you have an interesting conversation about whether you fulfill the Nerevarine Prophecies.

The next quest has you going to a Sixth House (evil) base to fight one of the leaders. After you beat him, he curses you with the supposedly incurable Corpus Disease. And so the next mission involves, you guessed it, curing the disease. Found some really neat items in that dungeon, though.

Curing the disease involves seeing a Wizard and trying an experimental potion (after another dungeon type area where you aren't allowed to fight back when attacked). The layout is slightly confusing, but otherwise very easy. The potion you end up getting cures you for all intents and purposes. And at this point, you can no longer get a disease or blight from random enemies. Saves a lot of annoyance.

I saved before the next part of the main quest, which involves finding out more about the prophecies. I think I'm at level 11, now.

Really loving the game. It's even better on the PC, aside from the higher frequency of crashing. Plenty of bug fixes, too, compared to the Xbox version. But if the Xbox version is the only one available for someone, I still give it a very strong recommendation. There are just a few bugs that you need to be aware of before you start playing, to keep things from becoming a nightmare later in the game.
