I beat R-Type Final on R-Typer difficulty.

It wasn't particularly more difficult than on Bydo difficulty. When I made my last post in this thread, I was of course taking a little break from the game. When I returned to it, I believe I got through the last tunnel of stage 6 on my next try. I will admit, though, that I used the delta weapon at the very end (which I don't believe I needed to do on Bydo).

I probably died more times against the stage 6 boss, but that was just spent rediscovering the exact thing I did on Bydo. I really don't like that boss much. It's entirely based on pattern, and not really at all on skill. A lot of people say that that's true for every moment of every R-Type game.... but those people are completely wrong (fortunately, lately I've noticed more R-type fans challenge that totally inaccurate assumption on message boards). That's one of the worst things about R-Type Final: At its worst moments, it makes complaints about R-Type games that were previously bullshit true.

As before, I beat the stage 6 boss with the TX-T. I tried using the Strike Bomber. I thought it might be possible that its superpowerful wave canon could kill the boss even faster. However, every time I shot at it once, the boss recoils from the shot so much that it bounced over and hit me, no matter how far away I'd position myself. This happens so quickly that there's really no way of dodging it (actually, it happens so quickly it's hard to tell what even happened).

There wasn't much to the final stage. I beat the final boss on my first try. I normally play this game with the speed set to 3. The final boss might be easier with it set to 2, because as was, I had to use light taps to control how much my ship moved as a dodged. But, as I said, it still wasn't difficult.
