I beat R-Type Final on Bydo. I timed the part from the next to last stage, from the final check point to the where you enter the boss. It takes at least 1:45.

Anyway, the final stage on Bydo was rather disappointing. It really didn't seem much harder than it had been before, and was in fact easier than stage 6 on Bydo had been. (I guess what follows may be a spoiler, but the game has been out a month and a half by now, so deal with it) Like the final boss of R-Type 1 and Delta, you have to do a lot of dodging without your Force to protect you, and you mostly just have to survive for a certain length of time. However, in this game, it's rather lame. All of the projectiles come from one direction. There is clearly a pattern to those projectiles, so it feels like you're just dodging one pattern over and over. (I don't know if there's a pattern to the final boss of 1 or Delta, but I don't know it if there is. I just rely on skill there) And the projectiles move fairly slowly, so there's no difficulty in slipping through them.

On the whole, I'd say Final on Bydo still isn't as good as Delta on Normal.

After I beat Bydo, I only earned one new gallery picture (and, of course, the Cleared Bydo Mode note), but nothing else.

Afterwards, I changed by hanger so that all the ships in it are ones that seem to unlock more of the "ship tree". I restarted the game on Human, and am now up to the stage 6 boss (again!). I've so far only unlocked one new ship: The Dinner Bell, by using the Delicatessen.
