I've been working on exam stuff, but tonight I managed to unwind by playing through Zanac. I took one warp, just because I wanted to see if I could reach it (I played the games a lot of times before I discovered it)

I think this is one of the most exciting action games on the NES. Like I've said before, if it has a flaw, it might be that it's too easy to get extra lives: I had 34 (!!!) when I beat the final boss, before I even got extra lives from the boss bonus (which brought me up to something like 59, but you can't actually use those lives, as they're just converted to score at the end of the game). Of course, the first few times I beat this game, I didn't have nearly as many lives. Also, though I had a lot of lives, I played like I was on my last, never wanting to waste a life.

One thing I may not have mentioned before (I can't recall) is that I really like a lot of songs in Zanac (especially the ending theme, despite its shortness). It might be the best Compile soundtrack I've heard, though Guardian Legend has a lot of songs I really like, too.
I LOOOOOOVE Flying Omelette!!
