Been playing a lot of Final Fantasy Legend II lately. Damn, this game is addictive. I just beat Venus, really having no difficulty. Even a game with a leveling system like this one can't seem to keep a cap on the strength of my characters. My Human Male (named "Ladd") already has 999 HP (for some reason, the computer kept adding 30 HP almost every other battle), a Strength rating that causes him to inflict about 700 damage on almost anything with the Flame Sword (okay, he has about seven Power Magi attached, but even then I shouldn't be doing 700 to a boss), the Defense of a block of Steel, and fairly high agility. Yeah, he only has a Mana rating of 4, but it's not like I'm ever going to use a spell with him. I think if this guy were brought into the real world, he's be pretty damn intimidating.

The rest of my characters seem to be where they should be in terms of Power. I don't know what caused my main character to get so pumped. I don't know how far I am into the game, though. Considering this was a somewhat early GB game, I'm sure I'm at least halfway through.

Fun Cat Fact of the Moment:

Despite writing a gruesome tale of cat mutilation called The Black Cat, Edgar Allen Poe adored cats.
