I tried playing Cannon Spike on the Dreamcast tonight. It has an unusual control scheme, so I played in on Baby difficulty to try to get used to it. I beat Baby with Mega Man and B.B. Hood. Crawl and I mentioned on the Cameos Database that this game has lots of different Capcom characters (Vega/Balrog, Charlie, B.B. Hood, Mega Man, Arthur, Cammy, to name a few), but what we didn't mention is that one level of this game is clearly a Resident Evil homage.

The game plays like a Smash TV clone, but the action and story are a bunch of random nonsense. There's some brief mention in the opening sequence about how it's the future and people use stupid flying boots or something, then the nonsense begins. Of course, on Baby difficulty, the game isn't that good, but I'm trying to imagine how it could possibly get better. It's like a bunch of bullet-hell shooter boss battles in a row without the shooter stages in-between.

I guess only time will tell...
