I beat R-Type III tonight with the classic Pod. Since I've already beaten the game's second quest, and also beat the game with the other two pods, I've done about all there is to do (well, I could try to beat the second quest with all the other pods, too, but I don't think I care about that)

I'm not sure I remember where I was going with that. But perhaps I can clarify a little - it's not that I think parts of R-Type III are bad, I just think that the great R-Type games are better.

Anyway, while I personally was disappointed a bit by R-Type III, I'd still give it 3 stars. So, if you're planning on collecting 70+ SNES games anyway, and R-Type III sounds interesting to you, it may be worth getting.

Now I have to decide whether I like Gaiares more than R-Type III.
