Regarding the crashing in Indiana Jones -

Games can be funny about glitches. When James first played through Aidyn Chronicles, he said it never crashed on him once. When I played through it, there were two places it crashed on me. One was a party of rats that literally caused the game to crash. Literally. The screen went black and there were messages on it that actually said something like, "Crash at line such-and-such." If I ever wanted to go back to the area where that party of rats was, I either had to take an alternate route or be careful to scoot around them. Again, I've got a cockamamie theory as to why that happens - a lot of enemies in Aidyn don't respawn once you fight them. I believe this party of rats was one I fought and defeated before and they weren't supposed to respawn, but for some reason they did and that caused the game to not know what to do when you engage them in battle. The fact that I returned to this area much later in the game and found that the rat party had completely vanished might be evidence for that theory.

The other area was the entrance to the bog. The game just froze there. I think it's because it tried to load a cutscene and failed.

But still, that's just two lock-ups. There were people on the GameFAQs Aidyn Chronicles board claiming locked up somewhere between 10-20 times (some of them might have been exaggerating, I don't really know.)

I've also heard that the expansion pak itself may cause games to lock-up. I don't know how people determine that the lock-up is caused by the expansion pak, though. It's possible that the expansion pak is what's causing Indiana Jones to lock up on me so much, but if that's the case, then why wouldn't it have caused Donkey Kong 64 or Shadow Man or Harvest Moon 64 to lock up in all the long hours I played those?

So, maybe I have a defective game or maybe I've just gotten really unlucky. But it's not even the only glitch I've found. (Another glitch I haven't mentioned yet is that an assault rifle suddenly became unusable, even though it was still visible on Indy's back, and eventually disappeared from my inventory for no apparent reason. I've since gotten another assault rifle and it hasn't happened again yet.)
