I figured out what to do in that volcano room. You do have to eventually push that button, but there's another step I neglected that you have to do first. By doing that step, you make a path over the lava (you need to press the button even though it fills the room with lava because it also opens a door.)

So, I made it past that stage and I'm now in the heart of the Palawan Temple. I reached a part where you have to make difficult timed jumps over platforms that rise and sink in lava.

It's a shame this game is so glitchy because for what it's worth, it's got some really decent puzzle-solving and jumping sequences. Unfortunately, the glitches aren't even the only problem. Sometimes, you can "fudge" your way through an area when you die. For example, there's a part where you have to drop down a tall pillar and push a button to make some ledges move out of the walls. From there you have to leap to the ledges, over a pit of lava, to get to the exit, but I missed the first jump and fell in the lava. The game restarted me on top of the tall pillar, and it was very easy to leap from there to the ledge near the exit. I didn't have to bother with the others.

Another problem is that the game really doesn't give me the impression that I am playing as Indiana Jones. He looks like Indiana Jones and he goes on adventures exploring strange places around the world, but his voice sounds nothing like Harrison Ford's (it's not just the actual voice, but his tone and way of speaking are all wrong), and he says things that Indiana Jones would never say. I realize he has to say some goofy things to give the player clues, but it seems like the writer tried everything within his/her power to make the lines as corny as possible.

Oh, but this game is still miles better than Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom for the NES. At least the Indy of this game doesn't pant like a chain-smoker after running a few feet.
