Really? I haven't seen many in IL. I don't know if they're common in OH. You should get a hummingbird feeder and hang it by a window. My mom likes hummingbirds, so she keeps a few feeders around the house. I usually see them feeding several times a day when I visit.

What's really amazing though, are the hummers that live near my parents' vacation house in the mountains. At any given time, there is at least one at the feeder. It's not uncommon to see 6 or 7 around it. And they're much braver than the ones that live in urban areas. The urban ones will let you get within 6 or so feet, but the ones in the woods will let you walk right up to the feeder. My dad said that if you put your finger on the perch, they will land on it and feed, but I've never had it happen. They seem to prefer hovering while feeding.
