I haven't had much to do with gaming at all this past week. As long I have work stuff to write about, I feel like I'm slacking if I try to finish my LoI review.

I did have some time last night, so I tried some demo disc games. Although I've already played it, I tried the Neo Contra demo again. What a stupid fucking game. Well, to be fair, every part of the demo had some weird, non run and gun gameplay, like climing walls, or riding this lizard thing.

I also tried the Y's demo. I accidentally reset about 3 minutes into the regular game, so I just did the boss battle demos instead. I might want to play this game soon. The combat is real time, closer to an action game than a typical RPG. The game seems to have a pretty old school feel to it.

It took me a few tries to beat the first boss demo, a moth. I had to get the jumping strikes down right. It seems that your timing affects the type of jumping attack you do. I kept doing this downward thrust that took of all of 6 HP of the 800 HP boss. Eventually, I figured out how to do a horizontal jumping slash, which hit multiple times for about 15 HP. The other boss was this huge thing with long arms that I had no idea how to approach.
