I completed I-Ninja. I beat the final boss on my first try. It's a shame how this game turned out. It started out on such a positive note. Sometimes I wonder if games are designed chronologically (i.e., level 1, then level 2, etc.) or all at once. I often get the impression that game designers start out putting a lot of effort into creating levels with good ideas and interesting concepts, but then get burnt out and slap together the rest of the game.

Crawl said I hadn't really elaborated on the game much, but I don't really feel like doing that. There isn't really much to say, anyway. After the first couple areas, it just boils down to doing each stage 3 times. There's nothing really distinctive about the later stages, either. Simple platforming, simple combat, blah. One of the very last stages was sort of a change, but by then I didn't even care anymore.

Another disappointment was that the game got much easier as it went on. After the first area, you're like "Wow, I can't wait to see what's next." Some of those early took several tries. Even the beat the clock and kill the enemy goals required some skill and were fun. Near the end, I was beating the timed stages with like 1 or 2 minutes left on the clock on my first try. What happened??

I'd give this game a 4/10. Its best parts are better than Jak's best (which isn't saying much), but its worst parts annoyed me more than Jak did.

I'll probably take some time off from gaming this week, and devote "game hour" to work.
