I could be totally mistaken, but didn't Crawl say this game was so long he never beat it? It doesn't seem that long. You can beat a world in about an hour.

Eh? No, I've beaten it several times. I do think it's kind of long, though. I usually spread a replay over three days. And I think it took me about two weeks to get 100% in every world the first time I did it.

The only thing I can think of related to this is that I expressed some incredulity when RoyalRanger said it was possible to beat the game in about 3 hours the first time through. I briefly did something like a time trial after that, but lost interest around world 5. I was close to being on pace to beating it in 3 or 4 hours (I don't remember exactly; it's been a while), but

a) I was rushing. I can't imagine anyone rushing this much their first time through. They'd miss every secret. It also just doesn't feel like a natural way to play the game.

b) I had experience with the game. So, nothing could stump me. Plus, this kept me from dying.

Maybe one other related thing is that I never beat the Game Boy Advance version (nor do I even own it), which has six extra stages, I believe.
